Poverty Issues

Zambia, in southern Africa, features stunning natural wonders. Despite strides in development, communities grapple with challenges like limited access to quality education and healthcare. Approximately 54% of the population faces poverty, emphasizing the urgent need for holistic strategies to address economic disparities and enhance livelihoods.

How We Help

Our partners in Zambia, New Life Tabernacle and Cell Ministries, have been tirelessly dedicated to serving impoverished rural communities in the southwestern regions of Zambia. Their commitment to uplifting these communities has led to the initiation of the Life Impact Training Centre, a crucial component of the Share Your Knowledge program. This innovative center is designed to address the pressing need for employable skills and leadership development in a remote district that lacks access to essential training facilities.

The Life Impact Training Centre, born out of a deep understanding of the local needs and challenges, stands as a beacon of hope for the residents of this underserved region. The program, aptly named Impact Zambia and inaugurated in 2012, is a testament to the collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing skills and leadership capabilities in tandem with local leaders.

As we look towards the future, the completion of the Life Impact Training Centre campus emerges as a pivotal milestone. This state-of-the-art facility is set to become a hub of learning and empowerment, offering education and training to 300 students upon its completion. It will not only address the current void in training centers but also catalyze positive change in the lives of the residents.

Your generous support plays a pivotal role in this transformative journey. By contributing to the finalization of the Life Impact Training Centre and the expansion of training offerings, you are directly influencing the trajectory of rural churches and communities in Zambia. Your commitment helps pave the way for a brighter future, where individuals have the opportunity to acquire essential skills, unlock their potential, and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.

Impact Story

Gertrude, a widow grappling with the challenges of raising a child with disabilities, shared with Kizzy the hardships of making ends meet through gardening, where the meager proceeds often left them hungry and unable to afford essential medications.

Undeterred by these challenges, Kizzy, always proactive in fostering community empowerment, had consistently invited Gertrude to join sewing training sessions at the Life Impact Training Centre. Initially doubtful about her ability to learn sewing at her age, Gertrude yielded to Kizzy's persistent encouragement. Under Kizzy's dedicated guidance, Gertrude underwent training, and with the support of the community, she established her own sewing business on a friend's shop porch in the local market.

The transformation in Gertrude's life was nothing short of remarkable. Acquiring sewing skills not only enabled her to provide an ample supply of food for her children but also granted her the financial means to cover medical expenses, dress comfortably, and even save money for the future. This narrative serves as a powerful testament to the profound impact of Kizzy's unwavering determination and the transformative potential of sharing your knowledge within a community.
